Zula is a free-to-play FPS title developed by Madbyte Games and published by IDC Games. What this game practically is, is a copycat of Counter Strike: Global Offensive, but, with a free to play character. Is that good though or does it destroy the experience?

The game has various game modes as for example Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Free for All or Wanted, and new ones are on the way, as the developer company has promised. Sixteen playable characters, inspired by popular TV heroes and with a unique background story, are available for you to play as, giving a cool feeling to Zula.

Let’s get to the dissapointing features now. Weapons in Zula can not be upgraded and obtained permanently. You just rent weapons for a brief period of time with either in-game as well as real money currency. However, weapons rented through microtransactions are not more powerful than the rest sto we can’t actually say it’s pay to win. It’s just greedy from the part of the developing team.

All the other aspects of Zula are pretty much everything we see in Counter Strike. Modes, maps, mechanics, shooting system etc are mainly influenced by CS:GO, almost like they have copied it legitimately.

Overall, Zula is a fair multiplayer first person shooting title, bringing all good things in Counter Strike: Global Offensive to a free to play title. Should you try it out? Yes, Should you spend money on it? No, because it gets greedier and greedier. The choice is yours.
