War Thunder is a free to play 3D MMO combat game, by Gaijin Entertainment. It is centered around World War II and includes major battles fought during that era. Unlike other games of the genre in which the players adopt and control a soldier hero, War Thunder focuses on vehicle control, providing you the opportunity to command more than 700 historical accurate and iconic aircrafts, tanks, fighters and anti-air vehicles. No need to worry being intimidated by the controls though, as the title is friendly enough to allow user-selection on the realism level, welcoming all levels of experience.

Team up with your friends and other players online and battle in majestic 16×16 battles on air or ground. You will need to properly control your selected vehicle or aircraft, be precise while attacking, maneuver through opposing forces, avoid enemy fire and communicate effectively with your teammates. Multiple game options are available, so you can select based on your preferences, such as Ground Strike mode whose focus is on destroying enemy aircrafts and ground forces or Domination mode in which you try to eliminate specific enemy objectives while defending your own. Realistic and Simulator battle modes raise the difficulty and realism for more experienced players and Historical Events re-create some of the most historical battles of the war.

With an excellent in-battle pace and gorgeous environments, graphics and sounds, War Thunder will not only appeal to all those fond of World War II era and flight sims, but to all players seeking to enjoy online a greatly crafted shooter, facing some serious PVP competition.

My most memorable war thunder moment: I was playing an M10 and had just lost track. I then realize that next to me is a SU-122 that has just been fired. Now it’s a race between the M10’s manual turret traverse speed and the SU-122’s super slow reload speed. What WarThunder needs is real competition. Either we’ll get WarThunder to improve drastically, or we’ll get a better game.
