War of the Immortals is a free-to-play MMORPG published by Arc games, played on either Arc’s platform or Steam. As you might have noticed from its title, it is a sequel to the loved MMORPG Battle of the Immortals, even though it follows the events that happened 300 years before the events in BOI making it basically a prequel. Mixing Norse and Greek mythology, in vast explorable areas, War of the Immortals stands proud to its name but fails to carry the same excitement its predecessor offered.

Picking your class in War of the Immortals is no easy task, there are 9 different ones to choose from and all of them have a completely unique playstyle.  Don’t worry though, if you got bored with your class the games gives you the possibility to choose a second class as you progress further. Don’t expect any complex progression system and skill setups, what you see is what you get and what you get is a simple linear MMMORPG.

Fights-wise, this game is dull to say the least. Most players will say that its PvE section offers no challenge whatsoever and that its PvP is the only form of true mechanics you can get. Well, they’re not wrong. The fights are particularly easy and oppose no danger, giving you no sense of achievement.

Its PvP section on the other side is an intense rollercoaster with many different modes that can satisfy any appetite. Multiplayer arenas, 1v1 duels and territory sieges are its main features. If you want to check War of the Immortals out then don’t forget to give its PvP modes a good look.

The experience a player would get out of War of the Immortals is a decent one. Let me explain, you may not find the challenge you longed for or an MMORPG to play for life, but this game can be your partner in crime when any other game has failed to keep you calm.

After having spent a few years in videogame journalism she came to believe that one day she will be the most famous videogame reviewer in existence.
