Super Monday Night Combat is a strategic multiplayer shooter, developed and published by Uber Entertainment in 2012. With a first glimpse you can say that it’s a Team Fortress clone, but you’ll be amazed to find out that this game has so much more to offer.

With a clear inspiration by Team Fortress, Super Monday Night Combat keeps all things good from its previous title and adds a more extended roster of Pros and all new gameplay features. Creating a video game with a perfect marriage of DotA-like games and third-person shooters is not an easy task, but in this case the outcome is addictive.

Before heading into play mode, all menu features are inspired by the League-of-Legends model which means that there is a roster of Pros which you can purchase but some of them are free each week in rotation. This gives you versatility and lets you try all roles before really head to buying a Pro.

Its gameplay is its most impressive feature. Teamed in 5v5 battles you will have to eliminate your opponents, disable their defences while you try to defend your own “moneyball”, which is the main objective. All Pros despite their role have 2 different weapons, each of which have 2 firing modes and you also have a set of 5 abilities which you can upgrade ingame while you earn experience and coins.

The coins you win in game can be used for upgrades on your character like health regeneration or speed boost or for other cool stuff to terrorize your opponents. One of the most cool things in this game is its in game commentary, with many funny remarks making the battle even more entertaining.

As expected from a game of this genre, Super Monday Night Combat is not a pay-to-win title offering only Pro bundles, experience boosts and cosmetics as purchase material.

Super Monday Night Combat is an exceptional title for its genre given the year it was released. Sure it can’t compete with other similar titles like Overwatch and Paladins today, but it sure is worth a try if you want to have a good time with an online shooter.
