Panzar is a free-to-play title developed and published by Panzar Studio. It’s a combination of elements from the Role Playing Game (RPG) and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genres and it features fantasy-themed Player Versus Player (PVP) online matches.

To start with, you will find four races to choose from, namely Orcs, Humans, Dwarves and Elves; each one supports two different classes, all of which uniquely designed with specific roles in combat. As you participate in matches you earn experience (more if you win) and when you level up your hero you can upgrade or unlock a skill.

In terms of aesthetics, the game is exceptional; Panzar uses CryEngine 3 and the result is amazingly detailed maps with moveable and breakable objects and character models that look absolutely great. Battle sounds and effects follow suit and the soundtrack is generally good with some moments of grandeur.

There are currently six different game modes, namely King of the Hill, Rugby, Domination, Siege, Mechanism and Convoy, plus more than 20 maps to play in. These promise a lot of variety but unfortunately there are some problems. Firstly, when you choose to join in a match, there is a completely random selection of map and game mode, something that may not be such a big thing; however, the modes themselves, although sufficient in number, are revolving around the idea of one team being the attacker and the other the defender, or one team carrying an object and the other trying to take it away. No bright ideas here.

And another thing; although you can’t say that Panzar is a Pay-to-Win game, users that choose to spend real-life money will always have the advantage. You see, crafting and upgrading equipment is a procedure that takes a lot of time and requires resources in the form of crystals awarded after a completed match and they come in very small quantities; with the help of the in-game shop you can speed thing up, either by buying crystals or by purchasing time boosters.

To make a long story short, Panzar is a good title that could have been great; if PVP is your thing and you would like to see some really good graphics, this is a game you have to try.

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
