Orcs Must Die! Unchained Review

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is a free-to-play Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game from Robot Entertainment and Gameforge. It’s the newest instalment in the Orcs Must Die! series and combines MOBA action with elements from Tower Defense and Trading Card Games (TCG).

The game features two Player versus Environment (PVE) modes called Survival and Endless. The concept is simple; you set up a team of up to five heroes and have to protect your base, or Rift as the game calls it, from waves of enemies. To achieve that, you must strategically place your defenses which consist of different kinds of traps and various units and take advantage of your heroes’ abilities. In the first mode players need to survive a certain number of enemy waves, while in the second, enemies keep coming until you are dead!

Orcs Must Die! Unchained has a Player versus Player (PVP) mode called Siege. It revolves around battles between two 5-player teams trying to conquer or defend their base. Players must cooperate and use everything they have in their bag of tricks to win the battle. If you have played other MOBA games, then you are familiar with the concept. Finally, it must be noted that everything, from heroes’ abilities, to traps and new units is depicted in cards that you must pick and build a deck that you will use in battle!

Orcs Must Die! Unchained is a great game with excellent 3D, colorful graphics, detailed and cartoonish models and a superb soundtrack. Everything looks funny, from the various units and heroes to the sounds of battle. With all the above, plus the amazing gaming experience it offers, it looks like Orcs Must Die! Unchained is here to stay!
