Onigiri is a free-to-play, action-based Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) from CyberStep. It is set in a fantasy medieval Japan where the once sealed evil Kamigui (evil spirits and monsters) are mow set free and you, a guy peacefully leaving in the island of Onigashima, must find a way to destroy them.

The game features a simple character creation process that doesn’t allow for a lot of aesthetic customization; there are no races or classes, instead players get to choose a weapon to specialize in with each one adding unique abilities and skills What is more, by picking one of the five available traits (Power, Defensive, Kind, Daring and Cautious) your hero has the ability to yield different kinds of weapons. In your journeys you will be accompanied by one of the 8 available NPCs taken from the namesake manga that the game is based on, who will aid you in battle, offer potions or rare items and whose affection you can earn with gifts.

Unfortunately, Onigiri’s graphics, although 3D, look outdated; the distinct manga artwork helps a little but the empty landscapes and the various glitches surely don’t create the best of impressions. Combat is action based with skills bound to specific keys and the left mouse button helping in the execution of the various combos. Moreover, heroes can dodge or block incoming damage in the expense of their mana. Apart from the aforementioned mishaps, the game offers numerous dungeons with different levels of difficulty and powerful bosses to fight that will satisfy casual and hardcore players alike.

The interesting story, the original Japanese voice-acting and the unique and stylish manga artwork give out a special feeling and create a gaming experience that every manga or RPG enthusiast will surely enjoy!

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
