Killer Instinct is a classic arcade fighting game remade for PC by Iron Galaxy and published by Microsoftin 2017. If you are an arcade player then you’ll definitely have used that screaming lines “C-c-c-combobreaker” and “ULTRA COMBO” in your childhood gaming life. Well, Killer Instinct is now back, with a fresh new character, cool graphics and a variety of cool things to do.

For starters, Killer Instinct is available on Steam with a price tag and a quite expensive one at that. There’s a free version of it though, which acts as a free trial but you can continue play it as a regular game without playing the extra fees. There’s pay to win elements implemented though so maybe buying its full version is the best way to go

The game doesn’t contain any amazing story plot or awesome gameplay tactics. It’s basically a beginner friendly fighting game with complex mechanics which can be easily mastered though. You may be startled by the fact that it’s purely based on combos but once you get through the tutorial, which is an awesome one for games of this genre, you are pretty much set to go.

There’s 29 total characters in Killer Instinct’s roster, each one with its unique combos and playstyle. Not only their fighting style is unique but their visualization is both retro and modern at the same time. This happens with the whole of the game actually, even though its graphics are polished you can tell that this was a retro title once.

One thing to be said about Killer Instinct is its excellent choice in soundtrack. Its playlist contains a collection of artists like Mick Gordon, Celldweller, and Atlas, making the experience even more intense.

As a classic fighting game, Killer Instinct has both PvE and PvP modes and recently started having its own tournaments with big prizes. Overall, this game is the perfect fit between retro and 2017 gameplay with a big variety of characters and the best tutorial there is in the fighting game genre. A must-play for every fighting game enthousiast.
