Granado Espada is a free-to-play MMORPG developed by IMC Games and published by IMC Games in 2007.Even though the game was first released as a pay-to play title, it finally was switched to its free-to-play edition after many years of forth and back changes of publishers and names. Finally we got this version of Granado Espada, by T3Fun.

When it comes to games of its genre, Granado Espada must be one of the most unique and intriguing to try. Just by looking at videos and screenshots of gameplay you can tell that it seems completely different than any other MMO since it implements a squad mechanic, where you get to use not one but three different characters. This mechanic can only be compared with the combat style of Dragonage.

Starting of, you get to choose your first three characters, one of which must forcibly be a Scout. The next two can be one of 5 classes: Fighter, Wizard, Musketeer, and Elementalist. From there on, you start your journey in a Baroque inspired era which is something that we don’t usually see in MMORPG.

Don’t expect any tutorials in Granado Espada, the only thing you get is a controls panel at the top of the screen to get you started. It’s up to you to use your first characters for maximum value through micromanagement and best combat stances. But this is just the beginning.

Granado Espada has more than 120 NPCs which can become your characters. You can collect all rare characters through collectible cards and add them to your barracks for future use. Your battle squad is named family and it’s up to you to combine their abilities for maximum value. Even though the game’s mechanics need tons of micromanagement, there’s an auto-battle feature to help you get through the tough stuff.

Graphics-wise, this game is a masterpiece. Regardless its years Granado Espada has beautiful simple graphics which could be envied even by fresh released MMORPG. Its soundtrack is also its strongest feature, which is set to classic orchestral music to fit its Baroque setting.

Be warned though, if you decide to try Granado Espada you have to grind, a lot. This is probably the biggest downside of this MMORPG plus the fact that it has some minimum pay-to-win content.

Overall, Granado Espada is a must-play MMORPG which will show you how the genre could be something completely different than we are accustomed to. If you like RTS games and micromanagement then this is your chance to get into the MMORPG genre.
