When looking at Gloria Victis you can’t help but think “ha…here’s a beautiful MMORPG, but why is it stuck in early access?”. There’s the fans that will be patient and appreciate the fact that such a small group of people created such a vast world and those who will fault it. Who will you be though?

In Gloria Victis you create a character but don’t have to base him on a specific class since your build is created by what weapons you use and what stats you decide to boost. They can change anytime, so that you can switch between different choices.

Seeing the world of the game for the first time is an immersive experience, since its graphics and music is outstanding. The audiovisual experience is so good that you almost forget that this is a game made by such a small group of people.

Where the game lacks though is its battle system. Even though it’s targetless and can be made into the most immersive battle system we’ve seen up to date, it just stops itself to a level where it gets buggy and repetitive. Let’s remind you one more time though that the game is still in Alpha so there’s plenty of room for improvements.

Overall, Gloria Victis is a fair MMORPG with huge potential and the chance to be one of the most immersive MMORPGs out there. Shall this quest succeeds or not it remains to be seen when it gets out of Early Access and we’ll be able to see a more complete version of it.

She was a gamer from early on, spending most days on Atari and NEO GEO emulators on her parents PC, furiously seeking her next favorite videogame. She truly realised her love for videogames when she became an adult though and from that moment on she wanted to make it her carreer by any means necessary. After having spent a few years in videogame journalism she came to believe that one day she will be the most famous videogame reviewer in existence.
