Dirty Bomb is a 3D First Person Shooter title developed by Splash Damage and published by WarChest. Like all other moba-like FPS titles (Team Fortress, Ovewatch, Paladins etc.) Dirty Bomb let’s you choose your hero out of a pool with 17 different mercenaries and then team up in objective-oriented battles in 3 basic modes.

Most of those objectives are pretty linear and classic to all the titles in this genre like, escort missions or point capturing but Dirty Bomb implements thee feature of secondary objectives which when completed gives you access to certain routes or block enemies. This is probably a unique mechanic which makes the game even more fun to play.

Dirty Bomb’s gameplay is really intense and fast paced, there is even a double jump feature that makes your experience even cooler. Even though its gameplay isn’t lacking anything important, it takes time to get used to it. At first you may find its fights annoying but as you start figuring out what all mercenaries do and what weapons they use it immediately becomes more fun since its aim is easy and could be characterized as newbie-friendly.

In each game you can choose 3 mercenaries for your squad out of a pool of all the mercenaries you unlocked plus some free-each-week ones. You can switch into any of your 3 mercenaries when you get killed depending on what your team needs.

One bad thing about Dirty Bomb’s classes is that there are certain ones dropping ammo packs which are really important since ammo is running out quickly in this game and finding ammo in the map is pretty rare. Players who don’t know how to drop ammo may cost their team the game since there will be players running around suiciding. This, plus some other minor mercenary features, might need some rebalancing in the future.

Dirty Bomb is as free-to-play as a game of its genre can be. There are no pay-to-win options even though you can buy more mercenaries and loadout cards through real currency.

To sum up, Dirty Bomb is a really fun alternative to all those FPS like Team Fortress and Overwatch, but it doesn’t have anything new to offer. Completing quests and competing in ranked play is fun but it doesn’t have anything so unique to keep you hooked up for a long time.
