Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is a 3D FPS videogame developed and published by Nexon as a spinoff of Counter Strike 1.6. While its gameplay is strongly focused on 1.6’s it implements the thrill of killing zombies without taking away that FPS feeling. If you wanted to get that competitive frenzy of Counter Strike without having to spend a dime then Nexon: Zombies is a perfect alternative.

While developed on 1.6’s engine, Counter Strike Nexon: Zombies doesn’t have a perfect set of graphics. It’s main feature though is its huge variety of modes. If you like a classic PvP experience then you can try Bomb Defusal, Team Deathmatch, and Deathmatch modes but if you want to spice things up with some zombie action then modes like Zombies Files, Zombie Giant, Zombie Shelter, and Zombie Scenario are your kind of games. Zombie focused modes also have zombie classes like quick stealthy ones or huge tank ones with a ton of HP.

Before releasing on Steam, Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies used to have a trademark crafting system where you could get a lot of cool weapons. The community seems to be torn between whether or not this system was good for the game now with many of them claiming it was totally unnecessary while others want it back. For what it’s worth this crafting system used to give some extra grind for the players who were trying to collect blueprints and materials.

Playing with friends is important in Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies since there is the family-clan system which gets you exp boosts and a lot of other goodies. You can also get that experience by completing daily and weekly missions but being in a family can only benefit you.

Overall Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is a cool free way to get into FPS mechanics even though it lacks the graphics and SFX of 2017. If you want to head out and try it be warned that it implements a lot of pay-to-win elements and it might get hard for you to find active servers.

After having spent a few years in videogame journalism she came to believe that one day she will be the most famous videogame reviewer in existence.
