Atlas Reactor is a free-to-play strategy title from Trion Worlds. It features turn-based battles between two teams in a futuristic techno environment where tactics, cooperation, understanding of the battlefield and sheer luck are the keys to victory!

There used to be 13 Reactors that provided eternal life for all mankind; unfortunately, as it is common in our race, a devastating war broke through the result of which was the destruction of all but one Reactors, Atlas. Powerful companies called Trusts fight for control over the last Reactor and some elite few, the Freelancers are given the gift of immortality in exchange for their support in this war.

There are 25 playable Freelancers that fight for one of the five Trusts; each one has a different set of abilities and can play a specific role in battle. Each week there is a number of different available heroes but as you play the game you earn Flux points that can be used to permanently unlock your favorite ones! What is more, winning matches will reward you with experience that you can use to upgrade your Freelancers ‘abilities and ISO, the in-game currency, which can be used to purchase cosmetics for your heroes.

Combat itself is great; it’s broken down in phases, namely Prep, Dash, Blast and Move. Before each phase resolves, you have 20 seconds to think about your course of action; do you think that one of your opponents will unleash a powerful attack towards your place? Use your dash ability (every Freelancer has one) to get out of the way! Alternatively you can raise a defensive Field and agree with your teammates to come and take shelter behind it! What makes Atlas Reactor so good is the fact that no matter how much you prepare, there will always be an opponent that will surprise you; on the other hand, when you manage to anticipate your enemies moves and hit them, the feeling of success is amazing!

To make things even more appealing, the game features a very interesting story; once you reach account level 5 you can play the single player campaign where not only will you learn about the Atlas Reactor story, but you will get amazing rewards too! All of the above are presented in detailed 3D graphics with excellent visual and sound effects and a perfectly matching soundtrack!

Atlas Reactor is one of those games that perfectly match elements from different genres; it requires a lot of strategic thinking, it’s fast paced like a MOBA title and it has many RPG characteristics. It may be a little overwhelming in the beginning, but do try it; the more you play it, the more you will fall in love with it!

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
