Gods Origin Online is another generic, side scrolling, 2D, browser MMORPG, produced by Viva Games. Just as all the other simplistic Chinese copy-and-pasted browser games it features a hub world and a 2D explorable external environment where players can battle enemies and earn currency. The combat is completely automated: the characters play out their animations, while the player observes passively the fight (when there’s not an option to skip it altogether). It is a stat management, grindy game, that can hardly be seen as exciting in any way. What is even more disturbing is that this title can’t even compare against its brethren, the other Chinese browser clones. In fact, it doesn’t feature a unique theme (dragons, diamonds, anime, etc.), doesn’t have any unique features, the site has bland and generic animations and it looks like if it was designed in the 90s, it has only two playable classes (warrior and wizard), doesn’t have an animated cinematic or any kind of conventional presentation, has even worse graphics and animations and quite dreadful sound effects.Exploring the main site, one clearly notices the lack of effort invested in the creation and marketing of the game. There’s not enough media available, there’s no community or social hub (except a link to their Facebook page), and even the “guides” page doesn’t have any proper guides or even info about the game. The only thing that seems to exist with a purpose is, unsurprisingly, the “shop” tab, featuring not very subtle buy-to-win elements. This game would be a waste of time even if the human life was infinite. The five hundred likes on its Facebook page are an unsettling mystery.2D Browser MMORPG
