Star Trek: Alien Domain Review

Shoved into the depths of fluidic space by a mysterious race of spacefaring creatures known only as Species 8472, you, along with your starship crew, are tasked with the monumental undertaking that is exploring, surviving, and eventually flourishing, in this brave new world. As captain of your starship, you will be given the opportunity to build your own home base replete with an array of customization options and skill trees meant to further diversify your playstyle from those around you.

As well as a home base, you will be also tasked with the mission of colonization. Each player is given the opportunity to take control of various barren planets, and in doing so, seed a colony of their very own on their hitherto vacant surfaces. But be warned – your colony will not be safe from the prying hands of your enemies. No – rather you will have to build defenses in order to keep your people safe, from player and computer enemies alike.

Space combat is an integral part of any Star Trek experience, and Star Trek: Alien Invasion is no outlier in that regard. As captain of your fleet, you are tasked with the decision of choosing the ships, formation, and active skills of your battle party, and setting them off into combat against members of the opposing faction.

Star Trek: Alien Invasion, while being a browser based game, is still able to retain much of the charm and mystique that has drawn generation after generation towards the franchise. From the lore friendly storyline, to the specific ship designations and officer titles, Star Trek: Alien Invasion manages to hit the nail on the head as far as immersion into the world is concerned. While the combat can feel at times a bit awkward, and the idea of microtransactions (which are present) can be daunting, for a true fan, this would be a hard title to miss.
