Once every so often, a studio will find a way to handle a certain genre in a way that will become groundbreaking. When this happens, every other title takes notice, and you can literally feel the winds changing. You can see the paradigm shift, and the communities attention alter itself in order to properly realign with the values that have been so thoroughly reconstructed for it. Realm Royale is surely one of those games. From the over saturated and generally mind numbing genre of battle royale games, Realm Royale rose, like a phoenix, from the ashes of its predecessors. While in the past battle royale games have been all about RNG, map knowledge, and homogeneous game play – Realm Royale turns the formula on its head, and for the first time, allows players some modicum of individuality within its battle arena.Where as in a similar game, you might see another player and wonder ‘huh, what weapons might he have managed to pick up? Let’s see how they fare against my own.’ All of the sudden, in Realm Royale, that internal conversation is changed. The question of weapons, while still present, now takes a back to seat to the more pressing issue at hand, their class. And not only their class, but their chosen abilities within in. While equipment of course still takes a pivotal role in the outcome of battle, Realm Royale, more so than any other battle royale game I’ve played (and I’ve played them all), relies instead on something greater. Class knowledge, familiarity, and match up potential. The feeling of PvP in Realm Royale is different. It doesn’t feel like a battle royale game, but rather, something more akin to an old mmo. Class matchups exist, counters are well known, and the outplay potential with nothing but your own classes kit is amazingly high. This allows for a more personal level of combat than I have seen in any of battle royale game to date, and it is something that is truly unique to the genre.Realm Royale managed to take a bogged down, over saturated market and flip it right on its head. Any fan of the genre, I urge you to give this game a shot. For the low, low, price of free, what have you got to lose? Far less, I’d say, than the hours of enjoyment that you surely stand to gain!Minimum System RequirementsOperating System: Windows 7 (64 bit) Processor: Intel i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00 GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory (RΑΜ): 6GB RAM Hard Disk Space: 5GB Available Space Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 5553D Client Fighting
