Awesomenauts is one of those games that we couldn’t wait to see them becoming Free-to-Play. That can already be seen by the fact that when the game was purchasable it had 500 players each day and 3.000 when on free weekends. Now that Awesomenauts is finally free-to-play, its player count can be finally boosted and appreciated.

What Awesomenauts stands for is 3v3 platforming base defending matches, just like any basic MOBA game, for both you and your friends. Apart from online multiplayer matches, you can also take advantage of its  split screen mode, to try and wreck your friends.

There are currently more than 30 characters on Awesomenauts’ roster, all of which have their own role and abilities. Since its free-to-play release, the game hasn’t received any considerable amount of new heroes, meaning that it’s not updated as frequently as we would have want.

What you basically do in this cartoony platform MOBA is move your hero through the platformy map, destroy towers, kill enemies and finally wreck the enemies’ core. Pretty simple right? That’s why Awesomenauts is enjoyable, easy and fast-paced.

As any other free to play MOBA, Awesomenauts has some minor microtransactions, purely cosmetic such as skins, drop pods, announcers and so on. This means that making this game finally free to play didn’t come as a bad thing for the game’s integrity, just like it’s happening with many other titles out there.

Overall, Awesomenauts is a must play. Even if you don’t want to spend time playing online by yourself, make sure to check out its splitscreen mode with your friends and create some friendly competition. For what it’s worth, this game is absolutely worth the time.
