Trove is the free-to-play Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed and published by Trion Worlds. It’s a fantastic adventure in a massive voxel world where Minecraft meets Diablo.

The first thing one must do is to create a character; there is a lot of room for aesthetic customization and when you add the distinctive artwork you can end up with a comical looking unique hero. What is more, there are several classes to choose from; from your typical Knight to the Candy Barbarian, they all have special abilities and skills and offer different and distinctive gameplay.

There is no main story in Trove; instead, once you have your hero made, you are met with a central screen from where you can choose an “instance” to enter. And by instance we mean a place (that can be user-created) full of monsters to slay and dungeons to clear. Once a dungeon is cleared it is marked with an “X” and you can move on to the next one. Note that others may enter the dungeon while you are already in it. And why would you do all of these? For loot! Yes, Trove will shower you with loot, so much that you will find it difficult to store or pick. And since a good proportion of it is user-created you will surely come across many funny designs!

Another feature is the Cornerstone; these are places of specific dimensions where you can build your home and they are portable, meaning that in every hub you visit there are predefined spaces where you can import your cornerstone and continue its building using local materials or just relax in. Your home is generally built from blocks you gather from the places you visit and as a reward from dungeons you clear. Finally, there are Club Worlds, reclusive places where you and members of your Club can build and share a World of your own!

Trove is a fun game that youngsters and adults will equally enjoy; its unique artwork, its massive size and the whole relaxing and fun feeling it gives out add up to a great experience that everyone must have!

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
