EverQuest is a free-to-play, Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) from Daybreak Game Company. It was released back in 1999 and has received 21 (!) expansions making the world of Norrath a massive place with secrets that wait to be discovered.

There are sixteen races to choose from, each with its own history and characteristics and sixteen playable classes with distinct skillsets and playstyle. The game’s world is huge and the quest-driven story will take you to every corner of it. What is more, there are thousands of side quests ensuring that you will always have something new to do. During your journeys you will meet and hire mercenaries who will aid you in battle. Besides that, you will find numerous instances and raids that require your cooperation with other players in order to complete but will reward you handsomely.

Compared to modern titles, the game’s graphics, although 3D, look aged. On the other hand however, the various locations are very well designed and the character models have nice detail. The same goes for the various creatures you will meet and the thousands of items you will gather. Combat is what you would expect from a game of the genre; after all, EverQuest is one of the games that started it all! There are beautiful spell effects and fluid animations. Finally, for the PVP enthusiasts, there are dedicated servers where you can test your skills against others in numerous events.

If you are looking for a casual game to play, forget about EverQuest. With so many years on the market and so much content, this is a game to be taken seriously. There are so many locations to visit that even when you find yourself near the level cap (after many gaming hours), you will still discover new things! All these may discourage newcomers but if you choose to install the game, you will embark on a legendary journey that few titles out there can offer.

Good

It was back at 1996 when Theodoros bought his first Personal Computer and with it a copy of Shogun : Total War. That was the beginning of many sleepless nights of exploring the fantastic world of gaming. He calls himself an “expert” defender and that’s his favorite gameplay style but he will not hesitate to grab a shield and go forth to protect his team as a tank. So next time you adventure in Azeroth and see a shield bearing cow named Klaras, you have found our guy! He is also a great fan of Role Playing Games. From Icewind Dale to Neverwinter Nights and Skyrim, you name it, he has played it all! He is not your average casual gamer, he is a dedicated fan!
