FINAL FANTASY XIV: PvP on the Horizon

Hello fellow adventurers! We have feed from the Developers’ Blog of FINAL FANTASY XIV concerning the upcoming changes in PVP content!

First of all, there will be a removal of the ongoing level restriction; every job of level 30 and above will be eligible to participate. What is more, your role will determine your PVP attributes and your gear will only have an impact on your appearance. Another major change will be the brand-new PVP-exclusive hotbar! That’s right, whenever you engage in PVP action your existing hotbar will change into the new PVP-oriented one! In this way, you will have direct and easy access to your PVP skills something that will surely make your life easier!

Another interesting new feature will be the removal of direction requirements for the melee DPS and the new consolidated combos that will free up a considerable amount of hotbar space. But the most important change will be on the PVP Actions; every job will have specific PVP Actions that look like the ones we already know from PVE but in reality they are quite changed. Some spells for example will now become instant while others will have new attributes. Furthermore, there will be seven additional PVP-specific Actions common for all roles and players may only choose two of them. Finally, players will be able to choose from a total of nine PVP Traits available to all roles that add specific bonuses. Bear in mind though, that each player can choose three of them every time they join a fight; add the fact that only two additional Actions can be chosen at a time and the Adrenaline Rush feature and you can understand that PVP will be more exciting than ever!
