World of Tanks: Update 9.17.1 – German Tech Tree

The first update of 2017 for World of Tanks is near and brings along some great additions and welcomed changes to the game. The update’s initial focus is on the German Tech Tree, including comprehensive balance revisions and brand new tanks. However the update promises to also bring gradual changes to the Japanese and American vehicles as well.

More specifically and in relation to the German Tech Tree revisions, players will see changes on the “Heavy Tanks” as the VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. A and VK 45.02 (P) Ausf. B. are being replaced by VK100.01P (Tier VIII) and Mäuschen (Tier IX), in order to provide a more common ground in terms of gameplay. Certain adjustments related to combat parameters are also underway in order to provide a smoother succession within the line. On the “Medium Tanks” segment, we will experience improved gun handling and increased mobility. The top-tier vehicles, Tier IX E-50 and Leopard Prototyp A, will get a serious power-up. Additionally, the Grille 15, of the “Tank Destroyers” group, will have some tweaking made to its technical specs in order to become more suitable for its core purpose; ambush combat.

Finally, various under-performing Premium vehicles, like the Krupp-Steyr Waffenträge and the Panther M/10, are getting tweaks and power-ups in order to provide a more balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience.
